A layered textile exploring mapping captured through macro photography. These images expose the cities historical layers by revealing the grain and texture of the city. Its edge, bomb maps, street grids. These layers shift in scale and have been created through drawings/ digital manipulation/ digital fabric printing/ dye sublimation brought together with stitch.

A glimpse into the working processes. These images demonstrate the layers of stitch, digitally printed fabric from drawings and digitally created maps. The fabric has been layered and stitched through a layer of organdie in order to ensure an element of transparency. The strips of fabric map are overlaid, shifted and frayed. This allows new aspects to be concealed and revealed.
These threads hold the layers together and gives another layer of texture. The textile is the framed to capture new discoveries with a macro camera.
